Basketball Game Preview: King Lions vs. Leto Falcons

The King Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Leto Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. King has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 13.

King is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Gaither on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. King was outmatched by Gaither and fell 88-48. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 687th, while the Cowboys are ranked 273rd).

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Leto took on Armwood on Wednesday. Leto took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Armwood. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leto's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for King, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-19.

King came up short against Leto in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 67-63. Can King avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
