Football Game Preview: Hall Titans vs. Southington Blue Knights

Hall is 2-7 against Southington since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Knights at 3:00 p.m. Hall will be strutting in after a victory while Southington will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Hall was able to grind out a solid win over Simsbury, taking the game 38-26. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Hall's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Scher, who picked up 80 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Another passer making a difference was Tommy Hussey, who threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Southington faced St. Joseph in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Blue Knights took a 30-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cadets. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Knights have lost by exactly six points.

Southington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Walker Mierzejewski picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. Ricardo Piza was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making six total tackles (1.5 for loss).

Hall now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Southington, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
