Preview: Largo Lions vs. Fairmont Heights Hornets
Largo is 6-1 against Fairmont Heights since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Largo Lions' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Fairmont Heights Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. Fairmont Heights took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Largo, who comes in off a win.
Largo took a 64-point loss the last time they faced off against Potomac, but they managed to turn things around on Thursday. Largo sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over Potomac. Given Largo's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Potomac is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fairmont Heights had to suffer through a rough 79-9 loss at the hands of Oxon Hill. Fairmont Heights was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-0.
Largo is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Fairmont Heights, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Largo against Fairmont Heights in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 51-9 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Largo since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
