Volleyball Recap: Reed Raiders vs. McQueen Lancers

Reed was the 3-0 winner over McQueen when they last played one another on September 4th, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell 3-1 to the Lancers on Thursday.

Reed started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-21.

Jaxsynn Bailey paced Reed's offense, picking up 20 kills. Bailey got some help from TeLaukie Pedro-Cabanada and her 36 assists. Pedro-Cabanada was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

McQueen can attribute much of their success to Nya Lagrone, who had 16 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Lagrone has posted since September 2nd. Olivia Ludwig also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Reed has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for McQueen, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Reed is set to face off against their familiar foe North Valleys at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, McQueen will square off against rival Hug at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
