Baseball Preview: Meridian Warriors vs. Eagle Mustangs        
        
		
            Meridian hasn't had much luck against Eagle recently, but that could start to change  on Friday. The Warriors will head out on the road to  face off against  the Mustangs  at 6:30  p.m.
Meridian is headed into Friday's   game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game  on Thursday. They fell  7-2 to Centennial. Surprisingly, this marked the Warriors' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
  Caleb Boydston made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI. That  home run was  his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Eagle won against Centennial  on Friday with six  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. The Mustangs skirted past Kuna  6-4. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Kavemen recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
 Caleb Zawadzki made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   four  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 In other pitching news,  Stephen Egan tossed a big game,   striking out eight batters over  five innings while giving up  four earned runs off   eight  hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in seven consecutive appearances.
 Zawadzki wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Andrew Palfreyman, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Eagle  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in March.
 Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Eagle, their record is now 10-6.
 Meridian might still be hurting after the  11-1 loss they got from Eagle  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
