Baseball Game Preview: Ringgold Rams vs. Yough Cougars

The Ringgold Rams will challenge the Yough Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Yough took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ringgold, who comes in off a win.

Ringgold's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Laurel Highlands with a sharp 6-0 win. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Sam Allen was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Gavin Angotti was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Yough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Deer Lakes.

Yough saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler B, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Yough's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Ringgold, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Everything went Ringgold's way against Yough in their previous meeting back in May of 2018, as Ringgold made off with a 13-4 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
