The Lincoln Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Teays Valley Vikings at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Lincoln was handed a seven-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They skirted past Olentangy Berlin 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Grace Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lincoln let Gabby Esterby and Kira Bailey run wild. Esterby went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Bailey went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Esterby has posted since back in April. Madi Hall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 11-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Teays Valley came up short against Marysville on Tuesday and fell 7-3.

Lincoln's record is now 15-8. As for Teays Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-4.

Lincoln couldn't quite get it done against Teays Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2015 as they fell 11-8. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
