Soccer Recap: West Florence Beats Lugoff-Elgin for Their Fourth Straight Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Florence). They put the hurt on the Lugoff-Elgin Demons with a sharp 8-3 victory on Tuesday. It was an even better day for Clinton Williams as he scored four goals for his team.

West Florence used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Lugoff-Elgin. And. Marcelo Gonzales made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

The win was the fourth in a row for West Florence, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four games. As for Lugoff-Elgin, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 2-5.

Carolina Forest will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something West Florence surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lugoff-Elgin, they are taking a road trip to face off against Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lugoff-Elgin has given up an average of 4.4 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
