Softball Recap: St. Petersburg Catholic Takes a Loss

After soaring to 29 runs the game before, St. Petersburg Catholic was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons, falling 24-1. The Barons lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in April of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 22-21 score last time.

St. Petersburg Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillian Barnard, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

St. Petersburg Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, St. Petersburg Catholic will square off against Lakeside Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Sarasota Christian at 4:00 p.m. Saint Stephen's Episcopal also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 6.5 runs per game.
