Softball Game Preview: Chippewa Valley Big Reds vs. Utica Eisenhower Eagles

The Chippewa Valley Big Reds will head out to challenge the Utica Eisenhower Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Chippewa Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Utica Eisenhower will be coming in after a loss.

Chippewa Valley took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Dakota, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Big Reds skirted past the Cougars 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Big Reds as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cameron Metcalfe was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Utica Eisenhower came up short against Romeo on Thursday and fell 6-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Utica Eisenhower's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Chippewa Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Chippewa Valley might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Utica Eisenhower when the teams last played back in April. Can the Big Reds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
