Football Recap: Carlmont Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 31 points the game before, Carlmont was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 34-0 loss at the hands of the Burlingame Panthers. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Scots were not able to get on the board.

Brody Zirelli threw for 62 yards on six of 15 attempts. Austin Sotto was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burlingame to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Armstrong, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. Armstrong's passing game has become a key predictor of the Panthers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Nathaniel Ordonez helped Armstrong out on the ground, rushing for 30 yards and three TDs.

Carlmont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Burlingame, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3.
