Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Comes Up Short

After flying high against Loma Linda Academy on Monday, Calvary Baptist came back down to earth. The Cougars took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rowland Raiders on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 56-54 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Calvary Baptist lost, don't look at Martin Malual. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Malual continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Quizon, who posted 11 points and five steals.
