Softball Recap: Cloverleaf Colts vs. Woodridge Bulldogs

With a playoff game on the line, Cloverleaf rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-3 margin over the Woodridge Bulldogs. The win was a breath of fresh air for Cloverleaf as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Alyson Croft was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Croft was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoe Brezina, who fired off two home runs and eight RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Sweitzer, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

As for Woodridge, they will head out on the road to challenge Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
