Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Spring Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Westwood Redhawks 3-0 on Thursday. The Vikings not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).

The victory didn't come easy: Westwood scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 26-24.

Malaya Dewey had a dynamite game, getting 19 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (six).

Spring Valley's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Westwood, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Spring Valley has already played their next game (against A.C. Flora), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Westwood, they will take on Lugoff-Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Demons will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Redhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
