Basketball Recap: Denver Jewish Day Piles Up the Points Against Victory Prep Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver Jewish Day). They blew past the Victory Prep Academy Knights, posting a 46-17 victory. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver Jewish Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaitlin Schatz, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten steals. Schatz is becoming a predictor of Denver Jewish Day's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 4-2 (and 1-4 when she doesn't). Tamar Goldberg- Butler was another key player, putting up 15 points and six steals.

Denver Jewish Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Victory Prep Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ariana Orozco, who went 6 of 15 en route to 13 points, and Joselyn Ruiz, who posted four points and 13 boards. Ruiz is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Denver Jewish Day's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Victory Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
