Preview: Earlville Red Raiders vs. Yorkville Christian Mustangs
Two dominant guards in Madyson Olson and Danielle Bulson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Earlville Red Raiders on the road again on Monday and play against the Yorkville Christian Mustangs at 5:45 p.m. on January 22nd.
Last Tuesday, Earlville came up short against Somonauk/Leland and fell 29-21.
Meanwhile, Yorkville Christian can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 73-28 victory over Westminster Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Yorkville Christian has posted since December 7, 2023.
Payton Wallin was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Bulson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten assists.
Earlville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Yorkville Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10.
Earlville strolled past Yorkville Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 34-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Earlville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
