Batesburg-Leesville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They slipped by the York Prep Patriots 61-60 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Leading Batesburg-Leesville to victory were Ta'Maj Gilliam and Braylen Davis. Gilliam went 7-for-17 to rack up 21 points, while Davis shot 4-for-6 from deep and almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gilliam has scored at least a third of Batesburg-Leesville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of KD Whitt, who posted four points and five boards.

Batesburg-Leesville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Batesburg-Leesville's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. As for York Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
