Football Game Preview: Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers vs. Turpin Cardinals

Pond Creek-Hunter hasn't had much luck against Turpin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will host the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Pond Creek-Hunter will be strutting in after a win while Turpin will be coming in after a loss.

Pond Creek-Hunter is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oklahoma's top teams: Oklahoma Bible, who was ranked 12th at the time (Pond Creek-Hunter was ranked 19th). The Panthers never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday.

Meanwhile, Turpin didn't have quite enough to beat Pioneer-Pleasant Vale on Friday and fell 28-26.

Pond Creek-Hunter pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.6 points over those games. As for Turpin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Pond Creek-Hunter took a serious blow against Turpin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 50-12. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 42-6.
