Soccer Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lincoln lost against Jacksonville back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Railsplitters lost 8-0 to the Crimsons. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Jacksonville are ranked 103rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Lincoln and nudges their season record down to 5-16-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 12-6-2 Bloomington (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.3% over those games). As for Jacksonville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3-3.

Lincoln wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Danville on the 11th. As for Jacksonville, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Bloomington on the 11th.
