Volleyball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Kim/Branson on Tuesday, Springfield came back down to earth. The Longhorns came up short against the Eads Eagles on Friday, falling 3-0. If the Longhorns were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-11, 25-21.

Cobi Mackey paced Springfield's offense, picking up ten kills. Mackey got some help from Dakota Reid and her 14 assists. Mackey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Springfield now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Eads, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Springfield has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Holly on the 5th. As for Eads, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Hi-Plains on the 4th.
