Volleyball Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Spring Valley Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-22, 21-25, 25-16.

Spring Valley had a senior duo take command as Malaya Dewey had 30 digs and two aces and Kennedy Newton had 12 digs and four aces. Dewey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Westwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Spring Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-18-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Westwood and Spring Valley will both be playing Lugoff-Elgin the next time they take the court. The Redhawks will head out to face the Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Vikings will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
