Baseball Game Preview: Perkiomen Valley Vikings vs. Spring-Ford Rams

Perkiomen Valley hasn't had much luck against Spring-Ford recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Perkiomen Valley is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Spring-Ford at 4:00 p.m. Spring-Ford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Perkiomen Valley, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Perkiomen Valley made easy work of Bristol and carried off a 12-2 win.

Nicholas Cress looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Liam McNeill was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Michael Strechay was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Perkiomen Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bristol only posted an OBP of .300.

Meanwhile, Spring-Ford came up short against North Penn on Monday, falling 11-4.

Spring-Ford also got a good showing from Dom Ruggiero, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Luke Sedor made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jake Witmer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Spring-Ford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Perkiomen Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
