Basketball Game Preview: Gleason Bulldogs vs. Clarksburg Rockets

The Gleason Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Clarksburg Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gleason knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Clarksburg likes a good challenge.

Gleason is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering South Fulton just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to the Red Devils on the road by a 74-59 margin. The match was a 29-29 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Clarksburg was beaten by Humboldt 102-33 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while the Vikings are ranked 92nd).

Clarksburg's loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Gleason, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.

Everything came up roses for Gleason against Clarksburg in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 81-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gleason since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
