Baseball Game Preview: Cole Cougars vs. Brackenridge Eagles

The Cole Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Brackenridge Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

Cole saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell just short of Antonian Prep by a score of 6-5.

Cole got a good showing from Mason Kay, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Carson Kay was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Zedhikeia, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Four must be Brackenridge's lucky number: they beat Holy Cross with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Eagles didn't even let the Knights on the board, marking the Eagles' second-straight 4-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Cole's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brackenridge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
