Preview: Panguitch Bobcats vs. Piute Thunderbirds
Panguitch has been on the road for seven straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Piute Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Panguitch posted their biggest victory since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wayne 68-38 on the road. With Panguitch ahead 35-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Panguitch had a senior duo take command as Cache Eyre scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and Justin Osburn scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Parkin, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Piute scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Mount Vernon 86-45 at home. The win was nothing new for Piute as they're now sitting on three straight.
Panguitch pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.33 points. As for Piute, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Panguitch was able to grind out a solid win over Piute when the teams last played back in March of 2023, winning 58-46. Does Panguitch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Piute turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
