 Northside won the last time they faced James River, and things went their way  on Monday too. The Northside Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-4  victory over the James River Knights. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Northside.
  John Doak and  Camden Spangler did most of the damage at the plate:  Doak  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances, while  Spangler  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-5.  Evan Bruce was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Northside's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.0 runs per game. As for James River, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
 Northside will head out on the road to  challenge  Franklin County at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Northside is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.8  runs per game this season. As for James River, they will play host again  on Wednesday to welcome Salem, where first pitch is scheduled  at 5:00  p.m.
