            Softball Recap: Burbank Bulldogs vs. MacArthur Brahmas        
        
		
        
        
            With a playoff win on the line, Burbank rose to the challenge  on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the MacArthur Brahmas  6-4. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Brahmas  on Friday, they had to take a  10-8  defeat.
 Evelyn Lopez was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched seven innings while giving up  four earned runs off   12  hits. Lopez was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Gianina Valdez was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.  Jalyn Ortiz was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
 Burbank  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 14  hits in six consecutive  games.

Burbank's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 20-4. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for MacArthur, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13-1 record  this season.
