Baseball Game Preview: Highlands Ranch Falcons vs. Douglas County Huskies

Highlands Ranch hasn't had much luck against Douglas County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the Huskies at 4:15 p.m. Highlands Ranch has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Highlands Ranch came up short against Legend on Monday, falling 16-3.

Will Bolton made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Parker Cox also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Douglas County didn't have quite enough to beat Chaparral on Monday and fell 8-6. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by exactly two runs.

Bricen Moore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Douglas County is 5-2 when Moore posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Kiehn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Highlands Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Douglas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
