Basketball Recap: Bishop Montgomery's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Bishop Montgomery came into Friday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down the Serra Cavaliers 65-50 on Friday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 532nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory got Bishop Montgomery back to even at 13-13. As for Serra, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.

Bishop Montgomery will venture away from home to take on St. Bernard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in St. Bernard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 matches. As for Serra, they will take on St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy has four straight wins, Serra has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
