Basketball Recap: Kansas Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Kansas won the last time they faced Vinita and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Kansas Comets came out on top against the Vinita Hornets by a score of 44-33. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Hornets are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Kansas and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Vinita, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Kansas will take on Afton in a tournament on Thursday. As for Vinita, they will head out on the road to challenge Miami at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
