Baseball Game Preview: Sherrard Tigers vs. Riverdale Rams

For the second straight game, Sherrard will face off against Riverdale. The Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sherrard will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Last Monday, Sherrard got the win against Riverdale by a conclusive 13-2. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Harrison Curry was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Eli Matson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Sherrard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverdale only posted an OBP of .286.

Sherrard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sherrard has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Riverdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
