Basketball Recap: Republic Takes a Loss

Republic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 64-55 to the Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame Knights.

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Annelise Curran, who went 9-for-22 to rack up 36 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Curran has scored at least a third of Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's points. Another player making a difference was Naomi Hartman, who went 8-for-19 on her way to 22 points and three steals.

Republic's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9.

Republic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-43 defeat against Curlew on the 8th.
