Baseball Recap: Burrillville Comes Up Short

Burrillville entered their matchup against Woonsocket on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Broncos took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Villa Novans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Villa Novans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on April 5th.

Jack Dichiaro was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Burrillville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Woonsocket, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

Looking ahead, Burrillville will square off against Ponaganset at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woonsocket, they will face off against Exeter-West Greenwich at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Scarlet Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Villa Novans surely won't give up without a fight.
