Baseball Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats

The Princeton Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Princeton's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Chisago Lakes Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Princeton fell victim to Monticello and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Magic. The game marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Chisago Lakes Area hadn't beaten North Branch on the road since June 8, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with an 8-3 win over the Vikings. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Chisago Lakes Area's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kellen Meissner, who scored a run while going 1-for-5.

The defeat snapped Princeton's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. As for Chisago Lakes Area, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything went Princeton's way against Chisago Lakes Area when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Princeton made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
