Sehome couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meridian Trojans on Tuesday. The loss means Sehome is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.

For Meridian's part, Katie Prengaman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off 14 hits (and not a single walk). Prengaman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
