Volleyball Recap: Carrollton Takes a Loss

If Carrollton was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Alliance on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 3-0 to the East Liverpool Potters on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Carrollton took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-22, 25-23.

Ayla Riggle had an outrageously good game for East Liverpool as she had 25 digs and five assists. Riggle is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Carrollton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for East Liverpool, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Carrollton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Salem on the 2nd. As for East Liverpool, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Beaver Local on the 2nd.
