Emerson Bellar leads a balanced attack to beat Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family

The Wisner-Pilger Gators scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-59 win over Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Wisner-Pilger has posted yet this season.

Wisner-Pilger got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emerson Bellar out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bellar has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Brown, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family lost, one person who can't be blamed is Claire Korth. Despite the final result, she shot 5-for-10 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. Korth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abilyn Schneider, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.

The victory got Wisner-Pilger back to even at 6-6. As for Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Wisner-Pilger will head out on the road to take on Pender at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pender will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, they will be playing at home against Madison on Thursday. Madison is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
