Basketball Game Preview: Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs vs. Teays Valley Vikings

The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs will square off against the Teays Valley Vikings at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bloom-Carroll will be strutting in after a win while Teays Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Bloom-Carroll took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 53-21 victory over Chillicothe. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Bloom-Carroll can attribute much of their success to Whitney Passen, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Tessa Brooks, who posted six points and three steals.

Bloom-Carroll was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Teays Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 50-33 fall against Newark. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Wildcats are ranked 80th).

Teays Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Bloom-Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Bloom-Carroll didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Teays Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 63-58 victory. Does Bloom-Carroll have another victory up their sleeve, or will Teays Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
