Gulfport gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Greenville Christian Saints 41-6 at home. Given the Admirals' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Saints are ranked 171st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gulfport was led to victory by Dakoreyon Payton and Cooper Crosby. Payton rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while Crosby rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Dane Sullivan was another key player, rushing for 69 yards and a touchdown.
