Baseball Game Preview: Magee Trojans vs. Pisgah Dragons

The Magee Trojans will take on the Pisgah Dragons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Magee will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Magee is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest win since April 6, 2024 on Thursday. They put the hurt on Terry with a sharp 12-5 victory. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Akavion Griffith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Griffith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Magee got a big performance out of Timothy Craft, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Justin Floyd was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Magee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Pisgah suffered their closest loss since March 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Pearl by a score of 7-5. The loss was the Dragons' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pisgah fell to 3-1. As for Magee, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Magee might still be hurting after the 12-6 defeat they got from Pisgah in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Magee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
