Preview: Harvey Red Raiders vs. Kirtland Hornets
The Harvey Red Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Kirtland Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Harvey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday.
Even though Madison scored an imposing 76 points on Saturday, Harvey still came out on top. Harvey walked away with an 83-76 win over Madison.
Harvey relied on the efforts of Armani Hall, who shot 5-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds, and Deontae Ware, who scored 27 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ware has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chase Goines, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kirtland pushed their score all the way to 88 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Chardon by a score of 90-88. Kirtland has struggled against Chardon recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The win got Harvey back to even at 10-10. As for Kirtland, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.
Harvey was able to grind out a solid win over Kirtland when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 60-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harvey since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
