Softball Recap: Crestview Knights vs. Ayersville Pilots
Crestview had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 6-14 to make it five. They came up short against the Ayersville Pilots, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.
As for Ayersville, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 16-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games.
For Ayersville's part, Kendra Waldron made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Waldron has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

Looking ahead, Crestview will venture away from home to square off against Wayne Trace at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ayersville, they will welcome Wauseon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
