Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Starts off Right with Win over Deseret Peak

Hillcrest had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Deseret Peak Golden Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since October 5, 2024.

Hillcrest took Deseret Peak into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-4, 25-22, 22-25, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Deseret Peak saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amelia Cannon had 20 assists and seven digs.

Looking ahead, Hillcrest will venture away from home to face off against Ogden at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Deseret Peak, they will welcome Judge Memorial Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
