Softball Game Preview: Pellston Hornets vs. Bellaire Eagles

The Pellston Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Bellaire Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pellston has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Pellston's offense. They came up short against Johannesburg-Lewiston on Monday, falling 19-0. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Meanwhile, Bellaire got the win against East Jordan last Monday by a conclusive 16-4. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Bellaire and bumps their season record up to 18-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Pellston, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Pellston suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Bellaire in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
