Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans vs. Chester Flyers
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of the Chester Flyers by a score of 12-10.
Addi Cushard-feddersen was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylin Johnson, who scored three runs and stole three bases.
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Chester, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bon Homme at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chester, they are on the road again on Monday to play Elkton/Lake Benton at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Chester's favor is that they have posted big run totals in their last five games.
