Preview: Millard South Patriots vs. Millard West Wildcats
The Millard South Patriots will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Millard West Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Millard South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Millard South pushed their score all the way to 62, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 86-62 defeat at the hands of Omaha Westside. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Millard South in their matchups with Omaha Westside: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Millard South had strong showings from Bernie Anderson, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Isaac Jensen, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Koby Meyers, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Millard West came up short against Creighton Prep on Friday and fell 61-51.
Millard South has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. Millard West's record now sits at 10-10.
Millard South came out on top in a nail-biter against Millard West when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 57-55. Will Millard South repeat their success, or does Millard West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
