Recap: Dunnellon Tigers vs. New Smyrna Beach Barracudas
The Dunnellon Tigers lost against the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Dunnellon took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Smyrna Beach. Dunnellon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Dunnellon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bode Burns, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Henry, who scored 11 points.
Lukas Parschauer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Smyrna Beach, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Parschauer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 13 straight games. Owen Mclaughlin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Dunnellon's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for New Smyrna Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunnellon will take on West Port at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (West Port is ranked 361st, while Dunnellon is ranked 352nd). As for New Smyrna Beach, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Deltona at 7:00 p.m. Deltona is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
