Basketball Game Preview: Queensbury Spartans vs. Niskayuna Silver Warriors

The Queensbury Spartans will challenge the Niskayuna Silver Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Queensbury is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.

Queensbury is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 66-45 margin over Ballston Spa. The Spartans pushed the score to 50-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Scotties cut but never quite recovered from.

Queensbury got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mark Huffaker out in front who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Huffaker a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Baker, who posted 21 points.

Queensbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Niskayuna waltzed into their game last Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 win over the Bison.

Queensbury's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Niskayuna, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.
