Basketball Game Preview: Harrison Hoyas vs. South Cobb Eagles

Harrison is 2-7 against South Cobb since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Harrison Hoyas will square off against the South Cobb Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Harrison came up short against Hillgrove and fell 71-60. While losing is never fun, the Hoyas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Hawks are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, South Cobb scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 76-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paulding County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (67), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Harrison and nudges their season record down to 9-7. As for South Cobb, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

Harrison won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2024, slipping by South Cobb 42-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harrison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
