Monticello took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Orange County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs' defense stepped up to hand the Fighting Hornets a 1-0 shutout on Monday. This was a revenge game for Monticello: when they faced off against Orange County back in April, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

Monticello has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Orange County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4-2.

Coming up, Monticello will head out to take on Fluvanna County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orange County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
